Understand Stripe verification and payout holds

What each payout status means, why Stripe asks for more details, and what to do when payouts are paused.

Why Stripe checks your details

Stripe must verify who it pays before money can reach your bank. It asks once when you set up payouts, and sometimes again later, for example when your details change. Holuway does not see or decide this check.

What each status means

Payments on, payouts pausedPeople can pay you, but Stripe is holding payouts until it has what it needs.Open Stripe and give what it asks for.

The Payouts page also lists what is Still needed and what is Being checked. In Pros, the same statuses read Started., Stripe needs something., Stripe is checking., Payouts paused. and Ready.

When money arrives

Stripe decides when payouts are sent to your bank. Bank payments take a few business days to clear before they can be paid out; card payments clear right away. To see your payouts and their dates, select Manage payouts in Stripe on Payouts, or Open Stripe in Pros.
